Prince of Peace Lutheran Church is excited to host its upcoming Refugee Picnic Celebration, an event designed to welcome and celebrate refugee and asylee families in the Mercer County area. Scheduled for Sunday, September 8, 2024, from 12:30 to 2:30 PM, the event will take place at the church, located at 177 Princeton-Hightstown Road, Princeton Junction. The celebration will proceed rain or shine, with indoor accommodations available if needed.
This free event is organized for refugee and asylee families and the volunteers who have been assisting them throughout the resettlement process. It is a collaborative effort involving Interfaith-RISE and the TJC/Interfaith Refugee Resettlement Committee, reflecting the power of community and interfaith partnerships in supporting new neighbors as they settle into the area.
The day will feature a classic American cookout, along with a variety of games and activities suitable for all ages. This gathering will provide a valuable opportunity for refugee families to connect with one another, meet local residents, and build the relationships that will help them feel at home in their new community.
Community members are encouraged to express their interest in attending by completing THIS FORM. Participation in this event will not only enhance the experience for refugee families but also contribute to the unity and strength of the broader community.
